Terms of Use
Last updated: October 22, 2026
These terms cover your use of Patter, a daily walking meditation app made by Sidedoor Labs LLC (“we”, “us”). By using Patter, you agree to them.
Walk safely
Patter is meant to be used while walking outdoors. Stay aware of your surroundings, traffic and other people at all times. Keep the volume low enough to hear what’s around you. Don’t follow any guidance that would be unsafe where you are. If a cue asks you to look around or slow down and it isn’t safe to do so, ignore it. You are responsible for your own safety while using the app.
Not medical advice
Patter offers general mindfulness and relaxation guidance. It is not medical, psychological or therapeutic advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you have a health condition that affects walking, or a mental health concern, talk to a professional before using Patter. If you’re in crisis, contact local emergency services.
AI-generated content
Each day’s meditation is written and voiced with the help of AI. We review how the meditations are made and run automatic checks on each one, but a meditation may still contain mistakes or wording that doesn’t suit you. Use your own judgment.
Your account
You sign in with Apple. Keep your Apple account secure; you’re responsible for activity under your Patter account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings (see the Privacy Policy).
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse Patter. That includes trying to access other people’s data, interfering with the service, or copying, reselling or redistributing the meditations.
Our content
The meditations, audio, design and name “Patter” belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use them through the app for your own use.
Beta versions
Test versions of Patter, including TestFlight builds, may be unfinished, may change or stop working, and may lose data. Feedback you send us may be used to improve Patter without any obligation to you.
Changes and availability
We may change, pause or stop Patter, or update these terms. If we make a significant change to the terms, we’ll tell you in the app. Continuing to use Patter after a change means you accept the new terms.
Disclaimers and liability
Patter is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect or consequential damages, or for injury or loss that results from using the app while walking. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for Patter, if any. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Patter or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Your use of Patter also follows the App Store’s Usage Rules.
